I think both Sawyer and Juliet needed someone to believe that there was more to them than the sum of their past mistakes. They each needed someone who could look at all the terrible things they had done and still believe in the good that they possessed. Together, perhaps for the first time, they were allowed to believe in themselves and with that, find redemption and love.
